On a brighter note...
...I'm watching a fascinating movie called "Pan's Labyrinth"--it's Spanish w/subtitles and there was a pretty bloody scene right at the beginning, but aside from that, it's pretty interesting. It's difficult, though, to fold laundry while you're watching a subtitled movie!!
Umm, yeah...forget that I said it was "brighter". It got a LOT bloodier before the end. But it was an interesting story...just not what I expected. It was good enough that I forgot I was reading subtitles, though.
Excellent movie. I'm glad you're open to foreign language movies because there so many excellent ones to recommend (such as my all time favorite, Amelie). However, I have a hard time watching these at home due to the extra concentration required to read them. Much easier for me to pay attention at the cinema. Pan's Labyrinth was one of the rare foreign language movies to actually play here at mainstream theaters, ao I was happy to see it on a giant screen whilst sipping my giant sized Mountain Dew....
Well, as you know, I'm a NetFlix addict (and would be WAY more addicted if I had the time) and I've been introduced to the wonderful world of foreign films through that venue. Sometimes I have difficulty concentrating, which is why I like having the ability to back it up and play it again.
I was actually able to follow at least SOME of the language in this movie...it was nice to be able to confirm with the subtitles that I was comprehending a good portion of it! :-)
I need to watch Amelie--I know that's one of your faves and I keep intending to put it in my queue...I'll do it someday!
...but enthralling to Him. I'm just me...a follower of Jesus (that should be enough, eh?) who hopes I am, at least some of the time, "blooming most recklessly" in a way that reflects Him and the amazing way He moves in my life.

I felt the same way about it--not what I'd expected. And the ending confused me.
