Who in the hell would come up wtih that, and then actually film it. Scares me is what it does. I don't want to go anywhere near those people.

This shows my weird sense of humor, doesn't it? I think the video (and all of the rest of them on the website) are hilariously funny. Those guys are my kind of people. :-)

And it goes right along with the little slogan that was posted on our big flashing $60 million (well, that MIGHT be a bit of an exaggeration, but who really worries about speaking the complete truth these days...?) church sign yesterday:

GOD EXPECTS YOU
TO BE FAITHFUL
TO YOUR CHURCH

Hmm...I thought God expected me to be faithful to HIM. No other gods before him, seeking him first and all that. Go figure. You just never know what you're going to learn from a big flashing sign.

Ha! Nice video :)

Did your church sign really say that? *jaw dropping*

I must have a bit of rebellion in me, too, because something inside me bucks every time I hear "God expects" anything, even for me to be faithful to Him. "Wants," "desires," "urges me to," maybe, but "expects?"

Actually, I'm pretty sure that God's actual expectations of me are a lot more realistic than my own. I tend to have a pretty high view of myself, and I suspect that God's is a little more accurate.

The sign did, indeed, say that. Can't compare, however, to what it said one day last week:

LIFE IS SHORT
HELL IS REAL
DO YOU KNOW JESUS?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Of course, it then went on to list the names of people celebrating birthdays, but it was just TOO funny the way it all ran together--I nearly wrecked my car because I was laughing hysterically.

That one indeed made me LOL. Craig likes to call me at work periodically to relay the latest stupid church sign he sees while driving around in his work van. I think he could publish a book someday.

the one time i had control over the church sign it read:
HONK IF YOU'RE TIRED OF STUPID CHURCH SIGNS!
